Export a save before changing devices

Open Continue / Saves. Save the run into a slot first, choose a backup password (10–128 characters), repeat it, and choose Export encrypted backup for that slot. In the iOS share sheet, choose Save to Files or another destination you trust. Keep the .efsave file and remember the password; we cannot recover forgotten passwords.

Import a browser or iOS save

Transfer the original .efsave file to the device. Open Continue / Saves, choose the target slot, select the backup file, enter its original password and choose Import encrypted backup. Import replaces that slot: export its existing contents first. Files must be smaller than 2.8 MB. App and browser saves use the same format. If Files does not show the download, save it to an accessible local folder first.

If a save or export fails

Keep the app installed and export any readable save before troubleshooting. A storage warning means the durable copy is not confirmed; free device storage and retry. Do not delete the app to fix a save problem. A cancelled share sheet does not export a file. Wrong passwords or damaged files cannot be repaired by changing their extension. Restarting a paused run should leave it paused until you resume.

Remove local data

Browser: use the browser’s clear-site-data option. iOS: open Settings → General → iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage) → EMBERTIDE → Delete App. Offload App preserves its data. Clearing Safari data does not remove the app’s private saves. To play again after deletion, reinstall from your App Store purchase history. Export files and system device backups remain separate: remove exports in Files and manage backups in your Apple backup settings. Restoring a device backup may restore game data.

Purchases and offline play

The browser version is free. The iOS app is a separate one-time purchase at your region’s App Store price, with no ads, in-app purchases or subscriptions. Core gameplay works offline. Purchases, reinstalling and refund requests are managed through the App Store.
